Going into my freshman year of high school I moved to a new city so I wasn’t going to be able to go to the same school as my friends. I thought I would be the center of attention when I started going to this new high school but the truth was that no one cared. I had no friends what so ever for most of freshman year. I also noticed who were my real friends and who were really there for me, from middle school. And I thank the people so much for staying and being there for me rather then leaving like the rest. Since I had no friends at this new high school I had to eat lunch alone. So I got really depressed and wanted to kill myself but I gave myself a reason to keep living and that was reading. More specifically a certain book/series. The book was Empire of Storms by Sarah J Maas and wow how that book and the series have changed my life. I knew I couldn’t die because I had to know what happened in the next book. So yes reading has really saved my life. It made the suicidal thoughts go away and the dawning realization that theres more to life than just living and dying there’s entire worlds out their yet to be discovered that are held in books and imaginations.
