When I was in Elementary school, I was kinda lonley. I had friends, but no people that would choose me first. I was chubby, and I have redhair, which I didn’t know how to control at the time, and glasses. In 4th grade I had an amazing Language Arts teacher. She made us read Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan. This book opened my eyes. It made me think that maybe I’m different because I’m a demigod. I started talking to my peers in class about the Greek Gods, Cabins, Monsters. I made the best kind of friends in that class, all about that book. The confidence Percy,Annabeth, and Grover gave me is unbelievable. They have also helped me with my courage these couple of years. I’ve moved to two different states in 2 years. I have had to make new friends with such different people. I didn’t know who where the mean people, the geeky people, the nice people. But Percy gave me the courage to learn to step up to someone and say hi. I really want to meet Rick Riordan one day and just thank him for giving me my first real friend, and being the first person who taught me that being different isnt a bad thing.
